BYCATEGORY
Category Selection Help
You are now located in the category selection menu. You may select a
software category, the contents of which can be examined.
Immediately after you have selected a category (i.e. pressed Enter),
you will be moved to the program selection window.
The main purpose of the categorial database view is to make comparing
different similar applications easier.
If you wish to return to the main menu, press ESC.

BYNAME
Keyword Entry Help
You are now located in the keyword entry screen. You may enter a
keyword, which will be used to find programs from The UCSBG database.
Do not be alarmed by the fact that all lower case letters are
automatically converted to uppercase. The search routine that will be
activated when you press Enter is not case sensitive. The automatic
"uppercasing" is performed merely to remind you of this fact.
The keyword that you enter will be automatically applied to both the
names of the programs and the corresponding manufacturers.
No DOS-style "*"-wildcards are needed. The search automatically finds
matches to names that contain the keyword in any position.
If you elect to leave the keyword blank (i.e. press Enter on an empty
line, then all programs are selected, providing access to all the
contents of the database).

DISPLAYMATCHES
Program Selection Window Help
This screen provides access to all programs that were selected either
by keyword or by selecting a specific software category.
There are three windows visible. On the left is a list of programs
that were selected. In the upper right corner is a window with
information about the program that is currently under the selector
(gray bar). In the lower right corner are the 9 lowest prices for the
program under the selector, along with the names of the mail order
companies which offer the prices.
You may use Cursor Up and Down, Page Up and Down, Home and End,
Control-Home and Control-End to move the selector in the list of
selected programs.
Pressing Enter will move you to the company information window in
which all prices for the selected program can be examined, along with
the specific "fine prints" of the companies that offer the program.

GOLIST
Company Information Window Help
The UCSBG contains the most vital information of each of the companies
whose pricing information it has. For the purpose of saving space,
most of the data is expressed with short terms and a specific type of
notation. The basic structure of the Company Information Window is in
order from the top to the bottom: name of the company, phone numbers,
working hours, address, payment options and finally shipping charges.
In some cases one or several of these elements have been omitted.
This means that the data is not applicable or variable.
Payment options are expressed with codes, which are followed by the
amount of the surcharge that is collected for the use of the option:
VISA=Visa, MC=Mastercard, AMEX=American Express, DISC=Discover,
DC=Diners Club, CB=Carte Blanche, COD=Collect On Delivery,
CHECK=Personal/Company Check.
For shipping costs the "#"-sign means items (i.e 1# is "one program").
